TGI Fridays on a Friday- Review

The American restaurant TGI Fridays is named after our favourite day of the week. Always located in the heart of every city centre where people get together for a meal with their families, friends, and co-workers or like me for a “get to know each other better meal” with my new flatmates.
It was a lovely meal on a Friday evening out. The restaurant is located in the High Cross restaurant area, close to the cinema. You walk into the restaurant and will instantly be greeted by a loud and funky atmosphere. The lovely staff, who clearly make the customers feel at ease, will guide you to your table through a restaurant full of people laughing, cheering and having a lovely start to the weekend. Some people are accompanied by a new friendship group while others are on a date, but one thing is certain is that the circus atmosphere in the restaurant, with the bright lights and pop music blasting through the speakers, will dim the awkwardness.
Other than great service and atmosphere, TGI Fridays in Leicester offers a high variety menu with American and Tex-Mex food (including vegetarian and vegan options). The American kitchen is well-known for its meat dishes, therefore the Vegan options are very limited.
We got our drinks right away and the time between ordering the food and being served was a good gap to catch up with the new flatmates before our mouths would be too stuffed with food to hold a proper conversation. The food brought to us by the lovely waiter who served us that evening looked delicious, and it was.

I had a "Classic American Cheese" burger meal and my vegan flatmate ordered a "To Vegan and Beyond" burger meal and she approved it. So even though the vegan menu is limited, there is quality in TGI Fridays vegan food, so to all vegans out there, you will be pleased.
To be honest, you can never go wrong with a burger, it is a safe option. I would probably have more to say about the food if I ordered their steak or tacos, but I played it safe this time.
Price-wise, in the opinion of a student on a tight budget, TGI Fridays may not be the first place I would go for affordable food, but as a hardworking student, I also deserve to have a nice meal out every once in a while. TGI Fridays is definitely an experience to have as a treat after a long and hard week of lectures.
My bill came to about £20 for a burger and a bottomless coke. Very worth it in my opinion.
A tip is if you like to be the centre of attention you should celebrate your birthday at TGI Fridays, as you will get a whole minute with all the attention in the restaurant drawn to you when the staff loudly sings a little chant while they hand you a balloon crown and a piece of cake as a birthday treat.
Kick off the weekend with great food, atmosphere, and service and Thank God It’s Fridays.
